Choosing what to export

You control exactly what goes into the file:

  1. Select outlines: pick one or more of the project's outlines to include.
  2. Select nodes: by default all nodes of the selected outlines are included; you can narrow it down to specific chapters or scenes, with Select all / Deselect all helpers.

Export options

Title & author

  • Title: pre-filled from your project title; edit it for the exported document.
  • Author: taken from your project's author details. You can choose whether the title page shows your real name or your pseudonym.

Node title visibility

Controls which node titles are printed as headings in the output:

  • Book and Chapter titles always appear.
  • Section and Scene titles are hidden by default (so scenes flow together as continuous prose), but you can opt to include them with the Include section titles and Include scene titles toggles.

Table of contents

  • Turn a table of contents on or off.
  • Set the TOC depth (top-level only, or several levels deep) to control how much detail the contents list shows.
  • A live preview shows the first several TOC rows as you adjust the settings.
  • In PDF exports, TOC entries are clickable links that jump to the right place in the document.

Exporting

Pick your output location and filename (the filename is suggested automatically from your title and chosen format), then export. On completion you can open the resulting file directly.

  • To go the other direction, turning an existing file into a project, see Importing Manuscripts.
  • To archive whole projects rather than produce a reader-facing document, see Backup & Restore.
